A piece from when I was experimenting in my studio class and tried experimenting with backgrounds through using the campus library for reference. One of the big challenges of this piece was through some of the construction that was going on at the time, leading me to change elements such as the wall in the back with the door that used to a brick wall instead. Another challenge was how slow I was going in trying to get every detail in the scenery and not having an exact plan on how to go about it. In retrospect, this would make me follow a “let it exist first, clean it up later” mindset for these sorts of pieces and block out each of the elements in the piece instead.
