These three pieces are book covers that I did for my Illustration 2 class. We had to choose from different 5 series and thought it would be fun to do the horror series. At first, I wanted to do character illustrations of each of the monsters in their respective stories, but found the idea of using iconography with an appropriate color to go along with a detail from the story to be more interesting. I made the covers with the idea of “simple yet effective” in mind, having a striking color as well as obvious symbolism from each story to make each one stand out in their own way along with having similar composition to work as a series of books.
